Week 19 ‘THE NEXT BIG THING’ BLOG HOP

I’m two days late but, hey, it’s all good! :-) We are blog hopping our way through some new reads. What a great way to be introduced to some wonderful authors you might have not known about. Be sure to follow our blog hop and be introduced to some exciting reads as well as works in progress. Below you will be able to learn a little about myself and the authors who follow me in week 20. Be sure to check them all out, for they are amazing authors who are paving a way for themselves!! Special thanks to Kai Mann, My #1 Mentor at www.kai-mann.com for asking me to participate.

Q: What is the working title of your book?
A: Innocence, GA

Q: Where did the idea come from for the book?
A: My experiences the 2 years I lived in Georgia, as well as some fiction.

Q: What genre does your book fall under?
A: Fiction/Suspense

Q: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
A: Judy Marte as Ty, Adepero Oduye as Kaydi, and Aasha Davis as Fatima

Q: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
A: Tired of the blight in their neighborhoods, three girls transplant themselves to a small town in sunny Georgia, where the people are happy and friendly…until secrets are revealed and true identities are exposed.

Q: Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
A: Self-published

Q: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
A: Off & on, one year. I started during NaNoWriMo 2011.

Q: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
A: Innocence, GA is sprinkled with a bit of Romance & Suspense coupled with an urban flair.

Q: Who or What inspired you to write this book?
A: The short time I lived in Georgia was FUN, but there was a lot of drama around me. I’ve put off writing about it for years, & I feel now is the right time.

Q: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
A: Ty, Kaydi, and Fatima are 3 young women who like to have fun. When you add greed, revenge, and hidden agendas to the equation, readers will follow along in anticipation to see where they end up next.

Here’s a list of my tagged blog hop authors for next week. Check out their blogs next Wednesday, November 7th, to read about their WIPs and New Releases:

It Can Happen to You-by Phette Ogburn

This is a book of short stories centered around various person situations. I believe everyone can relate to these stories, because as the title implies, it could happen to you or me, maybe even someone you know.  Warning, these stories contain adult content, but it is not overly graphic. These stories deal with dating issues, sexting and alternative lifestyles. It Can Happen To You is a quick and easy read, yet it was interesting.

The ID ~My next film project @TheIDMovie

Happy Friday everyone. Can you believe the year is almost over? Wow! Time waits on no one.

I wanna start off by saying a big THANK YOU to all of you who participated in the renaming of one of my characters. It was big fun. I will have giveaways and more contests in the near future as the release of Innocence, GA draws near.

What I’m gearing up now is for my next film project ~The ID. For those of you who read my 1st Book It Can Happen To You, are familiar with The ID. For those of you who haven’t read it…yet (don’t wanna spoil it for ya), The ID is the 2nd short story in the book. I’ve been fortunate enough to have Producer/Director extraordinaire, Virginia Bair (formerly Bryant) be a part of this project, but we need your help.

Myself, Virginia, and the crew, believe so much in this project that people are committing their efforts/time PRO BONO!!! Yup, that’s right. However, we need essentials in order to get the film made, i.e., food, tapes, hard drives, lodging, and other supplies. Check out our fundraising page on IndieGoGo. We have tiers to meet every budget and, hey, depending on your level of contribution, you’ll be able to see your name on the big screen.

We hope that we can count on you to help us reach our goal.

Again, thanks to all of you who’ve been supportive and followed me on my journey…I ain’t done yet! :-)
