YouTube Channel Video Launch Is HERE!!! @phetteogburn

It’s October 1st and guess what? My Vlog is in full effect. Are you as excited as I am? I hope so.

I created the video using the webcam on my laptop. A warning, the quality isn’t the best, but, I’m working with what I got, ya know? The take away message is still the same and that’s all that truly matters.

Check it out for yourself below and let me know what you think. If you haven’t done so, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube Channel so that you don’t miss out whenever I post a new video.

Enjoy!!!

I’m BAACCCKKKK —with a Video Blog & other news @phetteogburn

Happy Monday,

Let me say that I am so super sorry for being away for so long. During my absence, I’ve gone through a divorce, began a new relationship and have been doing some intense soul searching — which I’m going to share in my new video blog launching October 1st — along with my author journey.

I’ve gotten lotsa questions about the steps I took to write my book, so I figured it’d be even greater to simply tell it all in Video/blog a.k.a. Vlog form.

I need you to do me a favor and subscribe to my YouTube Channel so that the second I launch on October 1st, you will get a message in your email box. If you ever wanted to know how to write that book, hear other authors’ stories, or to get motivated, click HERE to subscribe. There will be weekly writing exercises, giveaways and prizes. You don’t want to miss out on that stuff, do you?

The launch happens October 1st!!!! Subscribe by clicking HERE and, when you get to my YouTube Channel, tap the little red Subscribe button on the right hand side to be a part of the festivities.

See you soon…

P.S.
I also changed the way I write my name. I’ll tell you all about it in a Vlog post soon!

#Book #Review of: Strawberry Mansion by Julia Press Simmons @JPSimmons

Strawberry Mansion: A Philadelphia StoryStrawberry Mansion: A Philadelphia Story by Julia Press Simmons
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Tabitha, Lisa, and Shanice are best friends. They’re as thick as thieves. Shanice is my favorite. Her feisty attitude and no holds barred demeanor set her apart from the other two. Initially, it was difficult for me to relate to Tabitha and Lisa’s bond with Shanice (who is 14 years old while the other two are 19 & 17, respectively)because of the age gap, but I suppose it’s possible. The storyline dealt with some serious issues that plague a lot of families. The ending took a twist that I kinda saw coming so that was a bit of a bummer because I wanted more…like what happened to Eric’s sorry tail. Maybe he reappears in another book. I did enjoy the excerpt to Begonia Brown, which is next on my list. JPS does a fine job painting pictures and giving her characters a unique voice and their own set of problems to address.

My #book #review of Never Dead by Jumata Emill Jones @JumataEmill

Never DeadNever Dead by Jumata Emill Jones

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Never Dead is a haunting (literally) story about newlyweds Emerson and Danielle McGee who relocate and take residence of Emerson’s grandmother’s house after she passes away. Almost immediately, Danielle notices something strange and menacing lurking about in the home when she is confronted by a ghost, which she later learns is an ominous spirit definitely trying to tell her something about her husband’s past.

Mr. Jones did an immaculate job capturing my attention within the first paragraph and held it up until the final word. I was particularly satisfied with the intense suspense in combination with the supernatural backdrop. If you enjoy reading mystery that keeps you flipping the pages until there is none, then this is the book for you.
