Website Makeover, Merry New Yr & all that good stuff…#2013 #update

Here it is the end of January and this is my first post of 2013. Though my intentions are good, I know I must be diligent when it comes to blogging/writing/expressing regularly (a semi, sorta New Year’s Resolution, but I don’t wanna call it that on the grounds I may jinx it *wink).

My time away has not been because I’ve been, ya know, slacking and watching way too much Scandal, Private Practice, and Double Divas or anything like that…eh, maybe that’s part of the reason; however, I have accomplished some things:

1. I enlisted the help of Duolit to makeover my site and make it more…ME! They tweaked the banner, cleaned up the tabs, and added a button for 3 Chicks and Some Books (A Collabo Project). I’m satisfied with the results. bannercomparison

2. I have some collaborative projects coming up and, I must say, I’m for real for real excited about ‘em.*See #1

3. My goal is to write at least 5 books by the end of 2013. Now, with all the voices, I meant, characters in my head, this should be a fairly easy task, right? NOT! But I’m up for the challenge. See my Work In Progress page for more in-fo!

4. This ones a biggie…I sent my manuscript for Innocence, GA (a book I’ve been working on since NaNoWriMo 2011) to my editor. This right here is celebratory. Here’s an excerpt –> InnocenceGAExcerpt Phettefront(2)

What are some of your goals/plans for the year?

I want to say thank you to all of you have been patient and followed me on this writing journey. I could not have done any of this without you.

To show my appreciation, here’s a never before seen Innocence, GA Prologue for my novel in progress, Innocence, GA.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks again,

My #book #review of Never Dead by Jumata Emill Jones @JumataEmill

Never DeadNever Dead by Jumata Emill Jones

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Never Dead is a haunting (literally) story about newlyweds Emerson and Danielle McGee who relocate and take residence of Emerson’s grandmother’s house after she passes away. Almost immediately, Danielle notices something strange and menacing lurking about in the home when she is confronted by a ghost, which she later learns is an ominous spirit definitely trying to tell her something about her husband’s past.

Mr. Jones did an immaculate job capturing my attention within the first paragraph and held it up until the final word. I was particularly satisfied with the intense suspense in combination with the supernatural backdrop. If you enjoy reading mystery that keeps you flipping the pages until there is none, then this is the book for you.

#Book #Review for ~IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU!

“It Could Happen To You ” was a book of trilogies , that was intriging with a twist. I like the way you did the spin on each story, making the reader want more ….I give it 5 stars !!!!! A very good read especially if someone just likes to read a good book , but a short story about everyday life situations . SDP

Interview on the Red Remote TV Show

Happy Thursday,

Last night, thanks to my wonderful publicist Kelly Greene, I got a chance to interview on UDetroit’s Red Remote TV Show and, let me just say, it was super fun!!!

I was able to witness some of the young talent in Detroit as well as network with fellow writers. It was quite an experience. See for yourself: My Interview. I come on around 18:35.

If your book is a movie, who’s in your dream cast?

Let me just start by saying that the Self Publishing Team are magnificent when it comes to all things “writing.” So, I thank them for this blog post idea.

If my short story S&M: Sexts & Messaging were being made into a movie (which, by the way, it is –>SEE! –but I digress) my dream cast would be:

Omari Hardwick as Hank (Sabra’s husband)
Omari Hardwick

Melissa DeSousa as Sabra

Lance Gross as Kenzu

Anika Noni Rose as Quatrina
