Hey guys,
Keep in mind this is a work in progress. Which means, there’s no heavy editing whatsoever. My goal is to reach 50,000 words by November 30th. Bottom line, it’s about quantity not quality…(NaNoWriMo’s quote). I will be randomly posting excerpts, which may or may not be in sequential order to the previous post. I hope you enjoy, and please continue to leave your feedback. Thanks!

TY
The club was packed. Ty, Fatima, Dominique, Mesha, Spencer and another couple made sure to get there early so they could get a good seat.
“You want something to drink?” Ty asked Fatima.
Spencer overheard and offered to buy a round for everybody. The DJ was on point. He played all the jams. Kia and Gary, the couple that Mesha and Spencer invited, were the first ones from the table to hit the dance floor.
“Mesha, go head. You and yo boo should go out there and dance.” Dominique urged.
“Nah, that’s all right. My baby know dancing is not my thang. A’int that right, boo?”
Spencer ignored Mesha.
“You dance?” Spencer asked Fatima, shouting across Dominique.
Fatima was scoping out the club, not paying any attention to what was going on. Ty patted her leg then pointed to Spencer.
“Huh?”
“I said, do you dance?” This time Spencer gestured they go to the dance floor.
“I can cut a rug.” Fatima mimicked some John Travolta moves.
“Then let’s do this!”
They made their way amongst the other dancers. Fatima attempted to head back to her chair a few times, but Spencer kept insisting she stay. He was enjoying himself way too much, Ty thought to herself. Finally, a slow song came on and they made their way back to their seats.
“Whew. It’s hot in here.” Fatima fanned herself.
“Here you go.” Spencer handed her a napkin.
“I thought y’all was gonna dance all night,” Mesha said playfully.
“Yeah, your girl sure can dance. I was trying to keep up.” Spencer said to Mesha.
Spencer used a flyer on the table as a makeshift fan. Ty wondered if he was aware of just how much he was staring at Fatima. Ty definitely noticed. A few hours and several shots later, everybody was feeling good. Fatima kept her drink limit at three. Needless to say, she was much less inebriated than the others.
Ty and Fatima were sitting next to each other. As the night progressed, Ty got more relaxed. She started off with small strokes to Fatima’s thigh to gentle massaging.
“Dance with me.” Ty whispered in Fatima’s ear.
Fatima didn’t hesitate. She followed Ty’s lead. She didn’t even remove Ty’s arms from around her waist. She seemed to like it. They rocked their hips from side to side, moving closer to one another with every note. All eyes were on them, but they were too absorbed to see.
“Get a room,” Mesha blurted out when they returned to their seats.
“We just might,” Ty retorted as she and Fatima’s eyes were still locked on one another.
